About Us
How it all began...
The Pittsburg Seafood Festival began in September 1984 in the historic New York Landing District. Thirty three years ago, the Pittsburg Chamber of Commerce along with many dedicated volunteers hosted the very first Pittsburg Seafood Festival. The year was 1984, and their hope was to draw a few hundred visitors to enjoy seafood and visit our wonderful city.  Well, let’s just say that first festival drew a few thousand more than expected. Since that time, it has grown to become one of Contra Costa County’s largest family events and is now recognized as one of the best festivals in Northern California!
It is with great pride that the Pittsburg Chamber of Commerce presents the 2024 Pittsburg Seafood & Music Festival, now in its 40th year. As part of the commitment in making the festival experience even better each year, the Pittsburg Chamber has big plans to making this 37th Annual Pittsburg Seafood & Music Festival even more special!
The Pittsburg Chamber of Commerce is a non-profit membership business organization of the Pittsburg  business community. Recognizing the importance of seafood sustainability to Northern California, the Pittsburg
Chamber of Commerce, develops and conducts the festival every year, the week after Labor Day to:

  • Promote the positive history of the once rich fishing industry in the city of Pittsburg;
  • Boost tourism,  recreation and economic development in the City of Pittsburg;
  • Support the Pittsburg Chamber of Commerce and important programs that service over 500 local businesses
  • Contribute fundraising dollars for over 40+ non-profit, civic, church and educational organizations to raise funds through participation in the festival

Over the last 40 years, The Pittsburg Chamber of Commerce's Seafood & Music Festival has given back over $750,000 to local charities and non-profit groups.
